Useful information
Situated in the North of Europe, Latvia gained its independence in 1991 after 50 years of Russian occupation. Small country of 2 million inhabitants, Latvia became a member of the European Union in 2004 and joined the Eurozone 10 years later. The country can rely on on its important foreign trade, especially with its Russian and Baltic neighbors. The Latvian flag is in direct competition with its Lithuanian and Polish neighbors.
Latvia is part of the European program of CNR. The first study on its RFT sector was carried out in 2018.
