Useful information
France is the second largest country in the European Union, with a population of 67 million. The country joined the European Union in 1957 and the Eurozone in 1999. The French road transport market is characterised by strong domestic activity, accounting for over 90% of its total business. As a transit country, France does not take sufficient advantage of its geographical position. As a result, international transport is gradually losing market share.
