Quant \u00e0 la taxe \u00e0 l\u2019essieu, elle oscille entre le minimum europ\u00e9en, 515 \u20ac\/v\u00e9h.an, et plus de 1 900 \u20ac\/v\u00e9h.an en Pologne. Plus encore, en Slov\u00e9nie, il n\u2019existe pas de taxe \u00e0 l\u2019essieu, les poids lourds ont cependant l\u2019obligation d\u2019utiliser les autoroutes lorsqu\u2019elles sont disponibles sur leur trajet. Enfin, les droits d\u2019accises sur le gazole ne font pas exception passant de 10 c\u20ac\/km dans plusieurs \u00c9tats membres \u00e0 18 c\u20ac\/km en Irlande. Les strat\u00e9gies des \u00c9tats dans ce domaine sont tr\u00e8s diverses.
