Driving personnel are the main operating cost item for French heavy goods vehicles. In November 2017, total salaries, social security contributions and travel expenses for drivers represented on average 36% of the cost price of a 40-tonne heavy goods vehicle.
\nIn this note, the CNR establishes \u00abtypical\u00bb driver profiles based on activity (long-distance or regional), company size and vehicle mileage. The results are presented in the form of technical data sheets detailing statistics on drivers' employment and remuneration conditions, as observed in the CNR Long Distance 40 Tonnes 2016 and Regional 40 Tonnes 2017 surveys.<\/p>\n
This focus makes it possible, in particular, to carry out certain socio-economic assessments (impact of a wage agreement, new social regulations or international comparisons, etc.).<\/p>\n
