The cost price of a vehicle, excluding diesel fuel, recorded an average annual inflation rate of +1.1% in 2017, driven mainly by drivers, tolls and equipment.<\/p>\n
At first glance, this inflation was mitigated by the upturn in activity observed in 2017. The vehicle production index and the activity indicator for long-distance fleets improved by +1.5% and +2.9% between the fourth quarters of 2016 and 2017.<\/p>\n
Despite everything, the aftermath of the 2008 crisis is still noticeable. In general, activity levels remain significantly lower than those observed before the crisis. The activity indicator for 2017 remains 10.1% lower than in 2007. Another finding from the 2017 survey is that growth has not been evenly distributed across all companies and mainly concerns the largest companies in the sample.
