The vehicle production indicator calculated by the CNR thus falls by -2.1% between 2022 and 2023. The production deficit compared to 2019, the last full year before the COVID crisis, reaches -6.7% in 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">The year 2023 was also marked by significant cost inflation. The increases affect both the social component and mileage and fixed vehicle costs. Among the most notable increases between the last two surveys in 2022 and 2023 were driver remuneration (+4.1% %), tyre costs (+8.4% %) and the average value of a tractor (+10% %).<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">A longer-term analysis of the survey results reveals some profound changes in terms of productivity and costs. The vehicle production indicator has fallen by 13.8% since 2007, the last full year before the 2008\/2009 crisis. Vehicle diesel consumption has been falling steadily: -9.3% between 2013 and 2023.
